Journal of Technological Pedagogy and Educational Development

Journal of Technological Pedagogy and Educational Development is a peer-reviewed open-access journal that aims to share innovative insights and stimulate critical discussions on education’s role in development. The journal explores key dimensions of development, including economic growth, poverty reduction, human development, well-being, human rights, democracy, social cohesion, peacebuilding, resilience, and environmental sustainability.

Journal of Technological Pedagogy and Educational Development aims to advance evidence-based theories and insights on the scope and drivers of educational change across diverse contexts. It highlights the critical role of local, national, regional, and global factors in shaping education and development.

Conventional understandings of development—focused on economic growth, industrialization, and poverty reduction—are being reexamined. While past research often prioritized measurable educational outcomes like school achievement, there is growing recognition of education's role in fostering social cohesion and advancing broader societal objectives.

The very concept of development is expanding, both in theory and in practice, with education occupying a central position in these evolving debates. Perspectives on education's role remain diverse: it is championed for enhancing human capabilities, advancing social justice, boosting productivity, reducing inequalities, and mitigating crises. Yet it also faces criticism for perpetuating disparities, disrupting cultural values, and failing many learners. This dual nature makes education a complex yet vital force in development discourse.

Journal of Technological Pedagogy and Educational Development invites submissions from all researchers, with a particular emphasis on scholars and practitioners.
